Remembering Palmer

Palmer was quite the character, always finding creative ways to entertain us with his curious, mischievous nature. As a Black American Shorthair, he had a penchant for independence and a playful spirit that was truly one of a kind.

Palmer's days were filled with his favorite pastimes - bird watching from the windowsill, snuggling up in cozy boxes, and basking in the warm sunshine during his frequent napping sessions. But his most endearing quirk was his love of running water. He would often jump up on the kitchen counters, meowing insistently until someone came to turn on the sink so he could dip his head under the gentle stream, a ritual he seemed to find utterly delightful.

That sense of playful wonder extended to his interactions with the people he loved most. Palmer had a way of keeping us on our toes, whether it was giving affectionate nips to establish his dominance or leaving little claw marks as a reminder of who was really in charge. Yet for all his mischievous antics, he was also a loyal and protective companion, always there to greet us with a friendly head-butt or curl up by our side.

Though our home feels a little quieter without Palmer's lively presence, the memories of his spirited personality and infectious joy will live on. He was a true original, a cat who marched to the beat of his own drum and reminded us daily to cherish the simple pleasures in life. As we bid farewell to our beloved friend, may the beautiful moments we shared bring us comfort in the days ahead.
