Remembering Juniper
I got juniper in november of 2025, right after i broke my foot, and right before i developed a anaphylactic allergy, she was a silly girl from the start, but was definitely born sick, she developed an ear infection that went from zero to a hundred really quick and developed a silly little head tilt, but after that she was fine, until she randomly went into heart failure, and after a night of fighting for her life, i peacefully put her to sleep. she did a lot for me, when i was sad she would be her silly little self until i felt happy again, and when pepper passed, she constantly cuddled up to her sister salt to comfort her, even though she obviously missed her too. the following is my final words to juniper, who is survived by her final remaining sister, salt, and her two brother creme brulee and pancake, she was also preceded in death by pepper, who passed in march of this year. i hope this letter shows how much i cared for this angel of an animal, and i hope it makes someone remember my girl besides me.
To my dear juniper, i love you. I’m sorry we didn’t get very much time, being under a year and such, but i’m so glad you came into my life. you were a spunky little girl, so affectionate and loving, especially towards me and your sister salt after your other sister passed. your heart was pure, despite it not working well enough for your little body, there wasn’t a ounce of anything negative. You were the sweetest girl despite your quirks, and i will forever hold you close to my heart. I’m sorry that your life ended so abruptly, and that it wasn’t in my arms where you finally passed, but with the vets in the back of the clinic. i hope your up there with pepper frolicking around, and i can’t wait to see you one day my beautiful girl.
Me and salt miss you so much, it won’t be the same without hearing you run around the cage, or your loud clinking when you drank from the bottle, but knowing your not sick anymore brings me peace.
In another lifetime my juniper, i hope you can be my girl in all lifetimes, and in each one, i will always take your pain for myself so you won’t have to suffer for a second.
Goodnight juniper, rest well, you deserve it for everything you have done, mommy will see you when you wake up.
Love, your mom, maddi 🩷
