Remembering Chance Alexander Sebor
Chance had a way of making every moment feel like an adventure. That brindle coat of his caught the light just right as he'd race toward the car at the first jingle of keys, his whole body vibrating with excitement. German Shepherds are born protectors and natural leaders, and Chance embodied every bit of that heritage—but he wore it with a playful spirit that made him impossible not to love. He'd stand guard over his family with quiet confidence, always alert, always present, yet somehow he never forgot how to be a kid at heart.
Ten years together meant ten years of car rides and open windows, of watching him press his nose against the glass like he was taking in the whole world. Chance had that independent streak that made him his own dog—he'd do things on his terms, with a kind of dignified stubbornness that made you respect him more, not less. But underneath that self-assured exterior was a loyal heart that showed up completely for the people he loved. When other dogs came around, Chance transformed into a social butterfly, his protective instincts melting into pure joy as he'd play and wrestle, his whole body loose and happy.
What made Chance special wasn't just what he did, but how he did it. He was the kind of dog who understood his role in the family and took it seriously, yet never let that responsibility steal his ability to find fun in the everyday. Whether he was surveying the house from his favorite spot or bounding around with new friends, there was something noble about the way he moved through life—present, purposeful, and genuinely content.
Chance Alexander Sebor leaves behind ten years of memories that will keep him close forever. The car rides will feel quieter now, and the house will miss his steady presence. But the loyalty he gave, the protection he offered, and the joy he found in simple moments—those don't fade. Chance showed us what it means to be both strong and gentle, independent and devoted. He was exactly the companion a family could hope for.
